HIGHLIGHT
Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major has a masculine temperament and a regal demeanor, with some people calling it the “king,” “hero” or “Adam” of violin concertos. It gives full play to the violinistic technique and unique expressiveness almost at the symphonic scale. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major (“Eroica”) is regarded as a masterwork that signifies the transition from the classical era to the romantic era. There is no trace of Haydn and Mozart in the Viennese classicism, but it is a work with strong emotions, surging passions and a grand spirit. The “Eroica” can be said as a turning point in which Beethoven forged a new path in his creativity.
