Highlight

William Tell was Rossini’s swan song for the operatic stage, and its overture is filled to the brim with energy, its structure similar to a four-movement symphony. Mozart’s Symphony No.39 has also been associated with the swan. Of Mozart’s last three symphonies, this is the most lyrical and elegant. Song Siheng, the first Chinese pianist to win the Marguerite Long Piano Competition, performs Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.3, a work brimming with modernism and Russian folk character.
