In 2019, Die Dang Jiu participated in the International Folk Music Vocal Competition and won the first prize with the title of “The Best Folk Song King”. In the 2018 CCTV Spring Festival Gala show, his performance of Holding Singing Dialogues Till the Sun Sets from his latest album came third in audience ratings across all Spring Festival programs on CCTV. In 2017, he won the regional title of the Eastern Division and went on to win the Overall Championship in the national finals at the All China King of Mountain Songs Competition in Hunan, gaining him the title of “King of Mountain Songs”. In 2017, Die sang songs like Holding Singing Dialogues till the Sun Sets, You Are A Flower and Miao Ling Mountains on the stage of Listen to China, a famous singing competition produced by Anhui TV Station and Beijing Dayu Media. In that competition, he mixed the Miao songs and the pop songs together and successfully won the award of the Most Popular Singer. In 2014, he won the championship plus the title as ‘Miao Singing King’ in the second season of CCTV’s Exotic and Dazzling – Top Singer Challenge for Ethnic Minority Groups Competition. In 2013, he won the Gold Award at the 6th China Folk Song Contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the People’s Government of Hubei Province. In 2012, he won the monthly championship in the CCTV Avenue of Stars. Between 2011 and 2012, he participated in the X Factor: Ji Qing Chang Xiang, the Chinese franchise of the international reality talent show, and won the second prize in the national finals. In 2010, he won the silver prize – Indigenous Music Section in the 14th CCTV National Young Singers Television Competition. Die Dang Jiu has released three albums more than 60 songs including Holding Singing Dialogues Till the Sun Sets, Silver Mountain Songs and My Beloved Girl Is Getting Married. These albums feature a mix of Miao and pop music which have won popular and critical acclaims from home and abroad.
